Payment Gateways

Payment Gateways are one of the most critical areas of any eCommerce website. Iciniti software is PA-DSS certified and only supports PCI compliant, vaulted gateways.

Vaulted Payment Gateways

In a non-vaulted gateway the credit card is stored internally in your systems database, usually using some strong encryption. In a vaulted gateway, the credit card information is stored in the gateway's database, off-site.

"The merchant does not have the liability of storing the credit card data."

The security within Iciniti Credit Card is extremely strong, but vaulting removes the liability of storing customer credit card numbers. When a card is vaulted, the gateways generates a GUID, an abstraction of the credit card number, for storage in your database. The effect is to allow the customer all of the advantages of having a stored credit card, but you, the merchant, do not have the liability of storing the credit card data.

PA-DSS Certification

The Payment Application Data Security Standard (PA-DSS) is the global security standard created by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SCC). PA-DSS was implemented in an effort to provide the definitive data standard for software vendors that develop payment applications.
